The Tiger and the Emperor

Sat 25th September, 1pm

Lampton Park , Hounslow

Carnival meets theatre when a giant Tiger appears in Lampton Park… music from the Bollywood Brass Band accompanies the Emperor’s colourful procession around the Park, and local dancers create a spectacular daytime processional performance. Watch as the King of the Jungle meets the Emperor, who thinks that he rules the world.

We’re combining forces with Kinetika Carnival Arts and young people from schools in Hounslow to create some Bollywood-style free entertainment for families.  Bring a picnic, but don’t let that Tiger get a taste of your lunch!

Opening of Turku’s Capital of Culture year 2011

Sat 15th January 2011

River Aurajoki, Turku

Walk the Plank, working together with director Mark Murphy, has won the prestigious contract to produce the spectacular opening show in Turku (Finland) when it becomes the European Capital of Culture in January 2011.
The large scale, site specific event will take place on the banks and water of the River Aurajoki, a beautiful location that has special significance for the city.

Aerial performance, massed choirs, an original score, fire, pyrotechnics and special effects will come together around the theme ‘communication’ – inspired by the city’s current position as a telecommunications hub, as well as its ship-building heritage.

A major participation programme, involving 2000 local people, will ensure a lasting impression on Turku, and the tens of thousands of spectators expected to see the show.

We’re hugely excited about delivering the event, which begins a year of extensive and intriguing cultural events and activity in Turku.
