The day long schedule included music, Tudor themed activities, a colourful procession and a dramatic fire and theatre show at Castlefield, Southsea Common. The center piece of Ghost Ship: A pageant for Portsmouth was a beautiful sculptural bonfire inspired by the Mary Rose and took a week to build. To catch a glimpse behind the scenes of the making of the bonfire and to relive this dramatic show, click here.

Culture Liverpool, Liverpool City Council’s culture service and Walk the Plank, produce three weekends of culturally diverse outdoor activities in On The Waterfront…

Music on the Waterfront
31 July – 2 August

Featuring; Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra & The Rightful Owners of the Song; a family-friendly evening and night time programme of World Music; and ’Lazy Sunday Afternoon’, a gentle afternoon of jazzy blues produced by some of Liverpool’s finest players on the stage, Music On the Waterfront promises an exciting mix of sights and sounds…

Art on the Waterfront
14-16 August

Inspired by Tate Liverpool’s summer exhibition Colour Chart, Art On The Waterfront will begin with daytime family activities including interactive animations, theatre performances, an outdoor Colour Tent and lantern making with Liverpool Lantern Company. These events will lead up to a special Sound and Light show featuring coloured lanterns, coloured fire, lighting effects and projections…

Film on the Waterfront
25 - 27 September

Located at the south end of the Pier Head site, with the window of the new Liverpool Museum acting as a gigantic cinema screen, this is a weekend of cinema and digital arts produced in partnership with FACT. Expect cinematic shenanigans, an evening of remixed and remastered innovative and contemporary screen work and a night of big screen cinema classics…
