Catrina is also a Trustee of Walk the Plank, where she has contributed for over five years. Her expertise in HRM has been instrumental in enhancing work engagement for staff, freelancers, and volunteers. A long-time advocate for equality, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, she collaborated with the University of Salford to create impactful experiences for students through the "Green Spaces, Dark Skies" project. Additionally, she evaluated the "Emerging Creatives" initiative, aimed at supporting the next generation of artists, producers and creative practitioners from diverse, low socio-economic backgrounds at the start of their careers.
With over 20 years of experience in coaching, mentoring, and strategic HRM—including roles at dbnAudile, MMU, and Walk the Plank—Catrina is committed to fostering positive workplace cultures. Her current research examines the link between neuroscience and corporate mental health to enhance employee well-being and performance. She is also pursuing a second Master's in Higher Education, focusing on the factors affecting award gaps among students, particularly those from BAME and neurodiverse backgrounds.
Before her academic career, Catrina spent 15 years in marketing and communications, holding senior roles at MEN Media and top media agencies. Her comprehensive background spans media planning, audience insight, and leading significant culture change initiatives.
