Unlock your audience’s curiosity with a spectacular bang…

This fabulous celebratory piece invites audiences to gather around a giant golden key – and unlock the magic of live performance and pyrotechnics.

The Golden Key is a short but spectacular outdoor performance piece, featuring aerial circus and acrobatics from AirCraft Circus Academy (subject to availability), music, fire, light and pyrotechnics. The work was commissioned and premiered at London's Guildhall Yard in October 2022 as part of Coney’s The Golden Key, which transformed the City of London with a day of immersive performance and interactive surprises.

A memorable moment perfect for programming as part of opening and closing ceremonies and other special events, The Golden Key is ideal for both day and night events, with performances lasting seven minutes in the daytime and 12 minutes at night.

The Golden Key, City of London, 2022, Phil Young

‘We commissioned Walk the Plank to create a new outdoor piece as part of The Golden Key, an outdoor festival exploring the secrets of the City of London. They created a beautiful piece combining a bespoke large-scale key installation, aerial circus, fire and pyrotechnics. The team was extremely creative to respond to the theme and brief, responded proactively to the short timeline and technical constraints, and displayed significant experience in addressing health and safety concerns regarding the use of fire and pyrotechnics in urban environments.’
