Drama, adventure, mischief – we love playing with fire, and we’ve been using it to make magic for three decades. Our squad of practised pyrotechnicians can help bring a blaze of glory to your event – from making fire drawings with young people to designing special effects for improbable creatures…

The Arts of Darkness are a longtime speciality. When the sun goes down, we’re here to provide a spark of excitement – and our use of fireworks and innovative light technology is as creative and innovative as it is spectacular.

On these pages, discover more about three areas where we’re leaders in the field. There’s our Geolights technology, which brings drama and dynamism to participatory projects outdoors. There’s our skill with special effects, which makes the impossible not just possible but real. And, most famously, there are fireworks and pyrotechnics, which make any event go with a bang. Want to learn more about how we can light up your event? Get in touch.

Fire & Pyrotechnics

Fire & Pyrotechnics

Our dedicated team of pyrotechnicians has been making the sky come alive for 30 years – and there’s nothing we don’t know about the dramatic and creative possibilities of fire and fireworks.

Since we lit our first Fire Garden in Manchester back in 1999, we've brought this perennial favourite to stately homes and ancient monuments, royal palaces and municipal parks, art galleries, town squares and festivals around the world. We also bring the magic of fire into the classroom through Playing with Fire, our innovative (and safe!) workshops that give young people the chance to explore the creative potential of fire.

From winter carnivals to city centre pyro for Manchester City Football Club’s treble-winning parade, wedding celebrations to Bonfire Night specials, we can fire your imagination – drop us a line today.

Light

Light

Fire isn’t the only way we animate the night sky. We’re skilled in combining the dramatic possibilities of large scale projections or bespoke lighting with performance: light is central to projects as varied as our playful outdoor installation about the human body to celebrations for Diwali – the Hindu festival of lights.

And then there’s Green Space Dark Skies, an odyssey into 20 wild UK landscapes that saw us develop a unique new lighting technology. Read more at the Green Space Dark Skies website – and then contact us to find out how these extraordinary new lights could work for you.

Special Effects

Special Effects

Innovative special effects are a longtime forte. Whether for film, theatre or live events, we can design and build something that fits your needs.

Some of those events are ours – and we also work to commission. We brought fire, flames and special effects to The Third Day, created by Punchdrunk and starring Jude Law. We created a bespoke controllable flame system especially for the timber-framed, thatch-roofed Shakespeare’s Globe. And we’ve made dragons spit fire, a giant baby poo and a tiger breathe her fiery breath at bystanders.

These are just a few examples of our work. If you’d like to talk about how we could collaborate to make magic happen for your event, give us a shout.
